After a series of raids carried out in different parts of the province of Buenos Aires, one of those accused of the incidents that occurred in the vicinity of the National Congress last week during a demonstration to speak out against the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was arrested last night along with four other people. This is Jaru Alexander Rodríguez Carrero, a 29-year-old Venezuelan who last entered Argentina in 2018
As a result of the proceedings, sticks, bladed weapons, photos of Molotov bombs, an air rifle and lists of people attending the march were also seized, as well as notebooks, cell phones and computers, as can be seen in the images of the operation.
Members who participated in the operation also found propaganda of the Teresa Rodríguez Movement (MTR) against the IMF, an air rifle, bladed weapons, photographs of Molotov bombs similar to those hijacked by the City Police Neighborhood Police Police Police Station 1 B and clothing which was carried by the accused at the time of the assault on police personnel.
The raids, concerning the case of “Attack on Authority”, were carried out by the Contraventions and Misdemeanors against Public Order Divisions of the City Police and the Judicial Investigators Corps of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the City. They were also part of the effective procedures of the various jurisdictions of the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires.
The five inspections requested by the East Flagrance Unit, Assistant Prosecutor Mariano Camblong and authorized by the head of Court 23, Dr. Norberto Circo, were carried out in the Buenos Aires towns of San Isidro, Esteban Echeverría, Libertad and Quilmes.
Rodríguez Carrero, one of those accused of the Molotov bomb attack, was found in an operation carried out in Guemes at 500, in the San Isidro match. In that place, in addition to finding the wanted man, they discovered a large amount of processed marijuana and a plantation in the back of the farm, elements for the production of the substance, chemical precursors, notes on the sale and production process.
4 computers, 1 CPU, 9 cell phones, 7 pen drives, two Micro SD memories, a camera, an MTR pamphlet, a photo of a Molotov bomb, a compressed air rifle, a knife, and a notebook and a white board with various annotations were hijacked by the court.
Alongside the individual wanted by the security forces, at the time of the proceedings there were four persons, two men and two women, all arrested on the order of the corresponding UFI for the trade of narcotics and transferred to the DDI of San Isidro, with the exception of the one accused of the attack in front of Congress, which was left to at the disposal of the Court in charge of Dr. Circo, who ordered his transfer to the headquarters of the Contraventions and Misdemeanors against Public Order Division of the City Police.
Another of the raids was carried out at a headquarters of the Teresa Rodríguez Movement (MTR), located at 519 to 2500 streets, in the town of Gobernador Costa, Florencio Varela party. Although there were no people inside, the officers seized computers, notebooks, lists of concurrents to the March 10 march, notebooks and sticks with covers. By order of the Court, all material was handed over to CIJ staff.
A third operation was carried out at the house of the first detainee in the case, on Calle San Luis, in El Jagüel, a party of Esteban Echeverría. There were found, under a mattress, banners belonging to the MTR, a children's notebook with notes on different marches, the people who attended and their supposed signatures. Five cell phones belonging to the residents were also seized.
In the afternoon, City Police personnel carried out two other raids in Libertad and in Quilmes, where material of interest for the investigation was hijacked to identify those who participated in last Thursday's abuses, assaulting police personnel and causing damage to the Congress Palace.
After being arrested and made available to the courts, it was found that Rodríguez Carrero does not have a criminal record and entered the country for the first time on October 12, 2015.
As can be seen in his personal Facebook profile, the man holds meetings and also marches alongside another of the spin-off spaces of the Historical MTR: the Cuba MTR of Zona Norte, which has one of its main operating bases in San Isidro. He was just arrested at a property located in Acasusso.
