For two weeks, rumors about the possible candidacy of Germán Vargas Lleras are sounding to the rhythm of El Guerrero with the publication of a major video in prime time.
The country is not a fire, but politicians will be able to see what the future of the former Vice President, who summoned a radical change House of Representatives (both elected and current) tomorrow, Wednesday, March 16. A private lunch at the Tequendama hotel dispels doubts anddecision.
According to information from Semana, a source close to Vargas Lleras told the magazine that “it is most likely not to run for presidency. Although we are completing the political agenda between Tuesday and Wednesday, we do not want to take the stage as a competitor for Casa de Nariño.”
Today, Tuesday, March 15, according to the agenda of Vargas Lleras, the leader of radical change had lunch with Dillian Francisca Toro, President of the U Party and made an appointment a week ago.
Regarding the meeting, the former Vice President posted a photo on Twitter and wrote, “Today we are starting to contact all sectors.”
A few hours later, it became known that Vargas Lleras accepted through Twitter the invitation of the former Minister Rafael Pardo to drink coffee after the conflict.
Finally, Gaviria did not attend the meeting. Because, according to Semana, he would have preferred to be in his house where he saw almost all presidential candidates marching to seduce the Liberal Party in order to gain support from the Liberal Party.
On election day, Vargas Lleras said: “We will see what happens tonight and we will make a decision this week.We will listen to the people of Colombia. I hope the consultation is also very legal.”
However, tomorrow's meeting is expected to know what path the party will take, since the majority of radical changes, according to the election results, Char members will arrive at lunch with the decision to support the presidential candidate of Federico Gutiérrez. Tsar Alejandro himself announced his public support for Federico Gutiérrez.
It is worth remembering that until Friday, radical changes are part of Vargas Lleras' strategy, that there will be a deadline to know who will replace Germán Córdoba, who registered as a presidential candidate in the Registrar last Friday.
After registering as a candidate, Córdoba delivered a secret message that slightly insulted the patience and intelligence of voters and journalists waiting there. First, he assured that he would wait for the decision of the Colombians in the inter-party and legislative elections on Sunday.
“We will listen to them, and only on that basis will determine who will be the presidential candidate for radical change. Personally, I am convinced that the radical change on Sunday will be one of the winning parties in the parliamentary elections of the Republic. This will be the party that determines who will be the next president of Colombia.” Córdoba said.
Federico Gutiérrez published a statement on social networks this morning on March 15, announcing that he will seek “national dialogue” to defend “democracy and freedom.” That is why I urge everyone and the movement to join his proposal and vision of the country.
In this document, the candidate announced that he was looking for a meeting and began by naming a traditional political division led by former presidents and politicians who were in other governments, such as: The Liberal Party led by Cesar Gaviria, the Conservative Party led by Andrés Pastrana, and the Cambio Party radicals led by Germán Vargas Lleras and the Democratic Center are already supported by part of the movement and it seems to be led by Alvaro Uribe Velez.
