This Tuesday, the Nuevo León Prosecutor's Office captured former governor Jaime Rodríguez El Bronco, who led the border state in two distinct stages between 2015 and 2021, interrupted in 2018 to become a candidate for the presidency of Mexico .

The agronomist was arrested for alleged diversion of resources and was announced by Samuel García, governor of Nuevo León since October 3 and one of its main political detractors, so there have been different friction between the two personalities.

One of the most remembered after his arrest occurred on September 30, when Jaime Rodríguez was present at the protest of Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas as municipal president of Monterrey. On that day, when he took the stand and greeted those present, including prosecutors and the elected governor, he laughed a few words to them about a hypothetical investigation into the future.

The politician added at the time that he wanted to add “a little smile to life”, since it was one of his last days in government at the helm of Nuevo León, so he continued with the jokes during the exercise.

He then continued with his welcoming speech to the new mayor of Monterrey, Luis Donaldo Colosio, just three days before the official end of his term as governor of the state and gave his place to Samuel García, who won the elections with a considerable margin at the head of the Movimiento Ciudadano party .
