The Buenos Aires Minister of Security, Marcelo D'Alessandro, confirmed this afternoon that the City Police arrested the suspect of throwing a Molotov bomb at a riot police force who came to contain the incidents that occurred in front of the National Congress and the stone-fired attack of several senators' offices, including that of Vice President Cristina Kirchner.

This is Julián Claudio Lazarte. At his home, they found material from the MTR, the organization that initiated the incidents.

D'Alessandro confirmed at a press conference the arrest of Lazarte, accused of attacking officer Alfredo Gutiérrez with the incendiary device, who was a member of a group of riot police who were deployed to confront protesters who set fire to garbage containers, tires and throwing stones and others forceful elements in front of the Legislative Palace.

Among the offices affected by the stones was that of CFK, who later suggested that this aggression could be planned.

“We put all the resources to identify those who did the damage and it must also be said that throwing a Molotov bomb at a person is an attempt at homicide, that cannot go unpunished,” said the City's Minister of Security. He added: “I also want to highlight at this time the performance of the Attorney General's Office of the City, by Juan Bautista Mahiques, because at the time of the consultation on the day of the events, it had already ordered that an investigation be carried out ex officio and that allowed us to investigate more quickly.”

According to the official, there are already seven arrested for the incidents. One of them is a Venezuelan identified as Jaru Alexander Rodríguez Carrero who participated in a faction of the Teresa Rodríguez Movement.

Another of the detainees is Oscar Santillán. According to this media outlet, it charges a social plan, the Empower Work: there are 33,000 pesos a month that the Ministry of Social Development transfers to its account at Banco Nación every month.

Santillán was the first reference of the Teresa Rodríguez Historical Movement (MTR) to be arrested by the City Police after burning garbage containers in the vicinity of the legislative palace and throwing stones, as evidenced by the filming and photos that take place in the cause.

The injured officer was Alfredo Gutiérrez. He was assisted by emergency personnel who were in the area of the incidents.

Yesterday, federal judge María Eugenia Capuchetti sent a letter to the Buenos Aires judge Norberto Circo to prevent him from continuing to act in the case.

The magistrate maintains that the facts cannot be “divided” into different cases and that the one responsible for analyzing the facts is the federal justice of Comodoro Py. He suspects that there was an “organization” to interrupt the Lower House session.

At the press conference where the arrest of the man who dropped the Molotov bomb was announced, Government Minister Jorge Macri unleashed the work of the Police and Justice. “This is a good time to make it clear that we Argentines do not tolerate violent people anymore, this city will enforce the law and we will be on the opposite side of the violent. The research shows the actions of the same group that threw some 10 tons of stones in 2018. In these years he was protected by Kirchnerism because an amparo defended them and did not allow the police to act. A clear statement of defense of these shock groups. Let us not confuse the actions of social groups in neighborhoods, with these violent and criminal groups that acted and returned to act in Congress,” he said.
