General Caballero, recently promoted to the first division, qualified for the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana-2022 by defeating Sol de América 2-1 on Tuesday night at Defensores del Chaco stadium in Asunción.

The youngest of Paraguayan football, led by Gustavo Bobadilla, former goalkeeper from Olimpia and this country's national team, had won in the first leg 3-0 a week ago.

Just four years ago the General began competing in the Primera B (third category) and in 2020 he scored in the Intermedia (second division) to finally finish this year in the first.

The goals for Caballero (from the city of Majorquín, 260 km from Asunción) were scored by Argentine steering wheel Juan Heinze (6 minutes) and midfielder Elias Alfonso (58). The discount for Sol de América was won by striker Nildo Viera, from penalty kick (9).

Sol de América began pushing to reduce the difference that the Caballero made in the first leg, but he immediately balanced the actions thanks to the team's engine, the Argentine steering wheel Pablo Hauche, who changed the winds in favor by ordering the counterattack.

The rioplatense steering wheel opened on the right for the entry of the attacker Junior Marabel who projected to the last lines before taking out a cross that spectacularly connected the Argentine midfielder Juan Heinze to beat the Solense goalkeeper, Luis Ojeda, in the 6 minutes.

The advantage was short-lived for the red team. Two minutes later, his Argentine defender Leandro Corulo committed an unnecessary foul in his area to blue striker Jose Verdun.

Chilean referee Piero Maza scored the maximum penalty that was successfully executed by attacker Nildo Viera.

Parity awakened Sol de América in his ambition, led by Argentina's Juan Pablo Pumpido (son of former argentinian national team goalkeeper Nery Pumpido).

Arévalos, the goalkeeper of General Caballero, prevented the blues from scoring more goals with masterful covers. El Caballero was not afraid either and created opportunities such as when striker Junior Marabel hit a ball in the right post of Ojeda in the 36th minute.

In the replica, the steering wheel Diego Valdez was projected through the middle and executed a violent shot that providentially cleared the corner guard of General Caballero.

Arevalos pinched Valdez's conquest again when he restarted the second half when he hit a ball that narrowly didn't get into his goal.

However, General Caballero, clearly exhibiting better physique, found the spaces and time to settle in and increase the advantage.

At 58 minutes, Guillermo Hauche served a perfect cross to his teammate Elías Alfonso, who cleared himself of a defender to finish crossed, from right to left, and beat Luis Ojeda's resistance.

The team led by Pumpido did not recover and was rather saved from the rival ending up thrashing him.
