After rumors about the apparent cancellation of the series El último Rey and the dissemination of a statement by Cuquita Abarca, widow of Vicente Fernández; the series inspired by the life of Charro de Huentitán was released last Monday as planned and in addition, its producer confirmed the second season.

In conversation with the program De primermano, Juan Osorio announced that the bioseries created from the work of Olga Wornat will have a continuation and even assured that it is already in the process of pre-production:

“This season lasts two weeks, we finished on March 25 on the air, and we are already working on a second season,” said the soap opera producer. In the conversation with the Grupo Imagen program, Juan Osorio also said that he was satisfied with the cast of El último rey, since he considers the project as a benchmark to show that Televisa is improving its productions.

“The truth is that we are very happy with the cast, with an Angelica Aragon, with an Iliana Fox, in short... I think it's time to take a step and show that my house Televisa wants to improve its contents and is doing it,” he explained.

It should be noted that the series about Vicente Fernández is broadcast from Monday to Friday on the Las Estrellas channel at 8:30 p.m.

The conversation around this series arose because the family of the late singer spoke for a couple of months ago against the project starred by Pablo Montero, and which features performances by Angelica Aragón, Emilio Osorio and José Carlos Ruiz.

After the death of Vicente Fernández on December 12 at the age of 81, Joaquín López-Dóriga announced that Televisa, in collaboration with Univision, was preparing a big surprise for fans, that is, the production of this bioseries.

The news broke during the broadcast of the funeral of the famous interpreter of the Mexican regional that took place at the VFG Arena. In order to carry out the long-awaited audiovisual project, the television stations acquired the rights to El Último Rey, the novel written by journalist and researcher Olga Wornat.

However, last Saturday, March 12, federal sources revealed to El Universal that the Second District Judge in Civil Matters of the Third Circuit banned Televisa from broadcasting this production due to a lawsuit filed by the Charro de Huentitán family.

It was at the beginning of February of this year when Pedro Sola, during the Ventaneando program, announced that they had asked lawyer Guillermo Pous for support in supervising the work of Juan Osorio with this production based on the singer's unauthorized biography.

It should be noted that Olga Wornat's book was not well received by the Fernández Dynasty because it deals with two very sensitive issues: the alleged kidnapping of Vicente Jr. in 1998 and Gerardo's possible links to drug trafficking. The first incident was shown as soon as the series was released.

“I can't tell you anything [...] that is, güey, let's see you speak well of what you are going to say. I'm going to ask you to find out. I have a good mother and who is an Argentinian to talk about my dad and our family? , I don't want to know anything,” Alejandro Fernández declared at the time before the cameras of Venga la Alegría.

This is not the only project around the life of Charro de Huentitán, because before the death, the family of the tapatio had confirmed the realization of a bioseries that will star Jaime Camil.
