As political competition takes place ahead of the presidential election, all the actions of the candidates generate a reaction in the country. On Wednesday, March 16, early in the morning (at 10 am in the Vatican), Rodolfo Hernandez met with Pope Francis.

After the former mayor of Bucaramanga sent a letter to the Vatican at the end of last year asking for an audience with the Supreme Pope, he received it for 20 minutes in the office.After leaving the meeting in a conversation with Caracol Radio, the candidate revealed what he was talking about and the details that brought him.

In the early hours of Wednesday, the candidate for the station said, “We have just left the meeting with the Pope, we talked about what is happening in Colombia, about football,” he also mentioned that he brought Pope Francis a straw hat made in Colombia, a book by San Lorenzo de Almagro published in 1904, and a pound of coffee Mesa de los Santos.

He also brought a Colombian hammock, but not for religious people, but to send it to his sister in Argentina.

Before the meeting, the candidate announced to the Colombians what to go to the Vatican. “I'm meeting my family in Vatican City. You will be blessed by the Pope, who governs Colombia. Send them a big hug.” He wrote.
