Sandra Cuevas was suspended as mayor of Mexico City Territory Cuauhtémoc due to an investigation that the Attorney General's Office of the Capital (FGJ) was conducting against her for crimes of theft, abuse of authority and possible delegation of discrimination.
The judge accepted the charges for these three crimes, but withdrew the charges of illegal deprivation of liberty, so there is not enough evidence to be prosecuted against them.
Immediately, colleagues from the capital's politicians came to the defense and publicly condemned political persecution against him by the government authorities led by Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

“This is a very serious fact that should not be allowed, since it sets a very dangerous precedent for our democratic coexistence, and that at any time can lead to the intention of removing other rulers of the city or other rulers of the country from the office of the head of government,” the statement ruled.
