From March 18 to 22, the 7th round of the 2022 Professional League Cup will be played with interzonal days of Argentinian professional football classics.

As usual, eyes will be on the superclassic River Plate vs. Boca Juniors on Sunday, March 20 at 5:00pm Colombian time with the presence of the coffee players, Juan Fernando Quintero, Jorman Campuzano, Frank Fabra and Sebastián Villa.

Boca Juniors comes from making a great game after beating Estudiantes de La Plata, however, the coach in charge, Sebastián Battaglia, must make a forced change against River by choosing to risk Oscar Romero or Darío Benedetto.

Diego Monroig, the correspondent in charge of Boca Juniors on the ESPN F 90 Argentina program, said that midfielder Jorman Campuzano could return to ownership by replacing Cristian Medina, considering that his brand work in the midfield could neutralize River Plate's intentions.

Thus, this would be the starting eleven Xeneize with his usual 4-3-1-2 scheme, which Sebastián Battaglia would pose to face the Millonario team at the Monumental de Núñez stadium:

Agustín Rossi; Luis Advíncula, Carlos Izquierdoz, Marcos Rojo, Frank Fabra; Jorman Campuzano, Pol Fernández, Juan Ramirez; Aaron Molinas; Sebastian Villa and (Luis Vazquez or Dario Benedetto).

For his part, Emiliano Raddi anticipated at SportsCenter Argentina AM that Carlos Zambrano is the one who will replace Carlos Izquierdoz, currently injured and in need of surgery to return to the defensive behind Boca.

In that sense, the decision that Battaglia must make in Boca is whether or not to risk Romero and Benedetto against River Plate, a team that runs first in zone 1 of the championship with 13 points out of 18 possible in four wins, one draw and one defeat.

On the other hand, Boca Juniors is third in zone 2 of the League Cup with 11 points out of 18 possible, being beaten by Colón de Santa Fe in the goal difference (+4 against Xeneize's +2) and by Estudiantes de la Plata (13 points).

The likely River Plate team against Boca Juniors in the Superclassic for the League Cup

River Plate scored a resounding rout (4-0) over Gymnastics and Fencing La Plata, so D.T. Marcelo Gallardo could repeat the team to receive Boca Juniors in the Superclassic for the League Cup.

Hector David Martínez was expected to recover from the lateral ligament strain of the left knee for this Sunday, March 20, but, according to the information released by correspondent Javier Gil Navarro at SportsCenter Argentina AM, the defender continues to train differentiated and without touching the ball, so he is very unlikely to be available.

Another one that appears in doubt is Matías Suárez, who felt discomfort in his knee because of what was preserved over the weekend, and will be demanded in the coming days to determine if he can enter the call.

With this scenario, Marcelo Gallardo would not have much reason to change anything. Perhaps the inclusion of Agustín Palavecino by Nicolás De la Cruz could be an alternative and in view of the fact that Juan Fernando Quintero has not shown physical conditions to play 90 minutes, the antioquian midfielder could be revulsive to face Boca, as he did this Sunday, March 13, entering the 64th minute for Nicolás de la Cruz.

In this way, the likely starting eleven of the premises in a usual 4-3-3 would be the following:

Franco Armani; Robert Rojas, Paulo Diaz, Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, Milton Casco; Santiago Simon, Enzo Perez, Enzo Fernández; Nicolas De la Cruz, Esequiel Barco, Julian Alvarez.
