Javier Lozano Alarcón, a member of the controversial National Action Party (PAN), murdered against President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrado (AMLO), who is a member of Michoacán's journalist Armando Linares Lopez.
On Tuesday afternoon, local media reported on the murder of a communicator and director of the communication portal Monitor Michoacano by armed people who entered the house and shot him at close range.
“#FiscaliaMich goes to the Caravanchel area of Zitácuaro to take action related to the murder of journalist Armando Linares López that occurred this afternoon in a private house. He suffers a gunshot wound,” wrote the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Michoacán (FGE) shortly thereafter.
Linares has already accused him of the threat to him and other collaborators after the murder of Roberto Toledo, a collaborator of the same media. Last January 31, when he arrived at work, he was deprived of his life.
Given this, the former Minister of Labor and Social Security (STPS) lamented through his Twitter account that another journalist had lost his life for doing his job, and criticized the Federal President for being angry and ignored when the European Parliament warned him of violence against journalists and human rights activists in Mexico.
In another publication, Lozano Alarcón expressed condolences to the relatives of Armando Linares, accusing President López Obrado for claiming that the murder of journalists was a “low percentage” compared to the murder cases in the country.
Like Javier Lozano, politicians and Internet users have lamented violence against journalists that exist in Mexico. The case of Xóchitl Gálvez was questioned on social networks about the number of murdered journalists who had to pay attention to the issue to the federal president.
“Unfortunately, Armando Linares is a journalist who has been killed one more person in our country. How many more are there for the President to admit that the (European) Congress is telling the truth and that his concerns are legitimate? #PeriodismoEnRiesgo #NoSeMataLaVerdad”
Meanwhile, Senator Lily Telez said: “Resting peacefully is Armando Linares Lopez, a journalist who was killed today in Michoacán. I hope that my family and friends will receive condolences.”
Journalist Adrián López said at a press conference tomorrow morning that if the chief executive criticizes conservatives and neoliberals for the murder of Armando Linares, he and his narrative are victorious. But if we empathize and recognize the magnitude of the crisis that Mexico is experiencing, we all win.” He added.
Berenice Juárez Navarrete, coordinator of the Federal Deputies of Acción Nacional in Michoacán, denounced the lack of security strategies, saying that violence against journalists has increased in the Morena government.
“Solidarity with family and journalistic unions,” he added.
“Today, journalist Armando Linares was killed in Chitakuaro, Michoakan. He is the eighth communicator executed in Mexico this year. Will President Lopez Obrado still deny the obvious and send a letter to the European Parliament?” Attacked a group of independent journalists called Los Editores.
