“I lame a rogue”: a tough relationship with Sir Byron and his mother

It is reported that the writer was abused so much by his mother that he tried to beat him with forceps on the fire of the fireplace.

George Gordon Noel Byron wrote: “The truth is always strange, a stranger than fiction”, but with that quote, he will never imagine that he will live a scandalous and hedonistic life.

It must also be recognized that having a father nicknamed “Mad Jack” in one of the moments he talks about his life is not the right thing to do. After all, George died drunk, so he did not know his father very well, and his son was only three years old.

And despite the problems with his father, he had to put up with him so much that his mother Catherine Gordon hated him, so he called him a “lame bully” because of Byron's foot problems.

My mother's abuse was so much that she tried to beat him with fire tongs, and even Byron's government, May Gray, claimed to have abused him when he was 9 years old.

Many misfortunes happened to him in his childhood. The only good thing he had was that he inherited his uncle's wealth with his title, Baron Byron de Rochedale. From that time on, George Gordon became known as Lord Byron.

Growing up, he became a surprisingly handsome man, and despite the lame problems that were clubbing, Byron's only imperfection was his tendency to get fat.

Byron was Wilt Chamberlain at the time, and according to the biographical report of Emilio Castelar in the life of Sir Byron, he refers to the relationship he had, in some biographies he says that he slept with 250 women in Venice in just one year.

His long list of lovers included Lady Caroline Lam (who describes him as “crazy, bad and dangerous”), his cousin Anne Isabella Milbank (who became Lady Byron in 1815), and according to his own sister, Augusta Lee.

It was also not limited to one genre. Byron had numerous gay adventures, some of which are known to be minors, and the book The Secret Life of the Great Writer also includes exotic animals he had as a companion.

As a result, Byron became a so-called liberal figure, more famous in Europe. His poetic achievements did not attract as much attention as the wild rumors about him. Then he left England and never returned. It was the only way to avoid public censorship in British society.

One of Byron's interesting facts was that he had a friendship with poet Percy Vichy Shelley and his fiancé, Mary Godwin. From the rainy weather, the group had fun writing stories about monsters.

Here, Mary produced an early version of the novel Frankenstein, and Polidori used Byron as the inspiration for “vampires.”

Byron is known as the Greek national hero. Despite his lack of military experience, he trained the army and provided the rebels with the necessary money. And to this day he is still considered a Greek national hero.

However, it was a malaria attack that killed Byron. He died on Easter Sunday, 1824, and shortly after his death, his friends gathered in London to read his memoirs.

The manuscript was full of vivid descriptions of Byron's sexual escape, which, according to the group, could destroy his hard-earned reputation as “heroic”. Memories decided that they never saw the light of day, and they probably set fire to it.
