Shortly before his tragic death, Pedro Infante had dedicated himself to delighting his fans in Central and South America, it was there that he had his last concert before returning to Mexico to try to fix his marriage to Irma Dorantes and divorce from María Luisa León.

During his last months of life Pedro Infante had a long tour of America, where he was very well received by his audience. One of his last performances was in Venezuela, where he rested for a few days and then went to Curaçao.

Curaçao, a small country near Venezuela, was the place where the Idol of Guamúchil had his last concert. On that occasion he decided that it was not a trio that would accompany him, but Mariachi Vargas, as it was the group he felt most comfortable with.

As members of the mariachi recalled, Pedro Infante had 25 different costumes for the entire tour, which is why they also used them during the performances. The audience welcomed him with pleasure and the Sinaloa liked the climate of the country, so he decided that he would stay there with the mariachi for six days.

During that time he dedicated himself to knowing and resting, before heading to Cuba, where he was in Havana with Irma Dorantes and her daughter, Irma Infante. In the Caribbean the family enjoyed a short vacation at the Hotel Nacional.

As the actor's wife recalled, it was one of the few times they had the opportunity to stay away from their problems and controversies, because for the first time they were in a place where no one knew them.

Irma revealed that since her performances in Venezuela she was accompanying Pedro, as the Sinaloan called him to confess that he was very sad to have been alone during Christmas, in fact, took the opportunity to go to a hospital so that he could sing to the sick who also spent the holidays alone.

The protagonist of Los Tres Huastecos asked his wife to process his daughter's passport as soon as possible, no matter how complicated it might be, because he wanted both of them to travel and accompany him during the last weeks of his tour.

The actress did not hesitate to comply with what Pedro told her and had to immerse herself in the bureaucratic processes necessary to be able to get the signature of the Idol to travel from Venezuela to Mexico and to be useful for processing her daughter's passport, since it was necessary for both parents' signatures to be present.

Once Dorantes finally managed to get her daughter's passport, she flew to meet Pedro, so that was the last vacation they were together.

From Cuba, the couple arrived in Mérida, Yucatan, because Infante wanted to finish the procedures for one of their properties to be under the name of his current wife, since they had threats from María Luisa León.

Irma returned to Mexico City, where she received the Sinaloan. On one of the last occasions that the Idol of the People was in Mérida, his favorite city, was when he wanted the children he had with Lupita Torrentera to accompany him on a short vacation.

He asked the dancer's permission to take them with him on a sea tour, so on board one of his luxurious cars, he traveled through several cities, touring them and enjoying the sea every time they stopped at some beach.
