The Hong Kong stock exchange closed up more than 9% on Wednesday, after China promised to support markets in crisis, an optimism that was reflected in the upward opening of most European places.

In Europe, major stock exchanges opened higher on Wednesday, encouraged by Asian markets, the positive closure of Wall Street and optimism about the war in Ukraine.
