Last week Eugenio Derbez caused excitement with a mysterious message on Instagram where he revealed that he was working on a new project. And in the image that the comedic actor shared, he can be seen on what appears to be a film set, and in front of him a person sitting and dressed in the iconic costume of El chavo del ocho.
Without giving details of the project, the public began to speculate that it was the announced bioseries by Roberto Gómez Bolaños Chespirito, a film that was announced several months ago by his son, producer Roberto Gómez Fernández, who is the head of Grupo Chespirito with which various products are marketed with the image of the actor and his characters.
Despite the fact that in that post, the actor of No Returns Are Accepted did not reveal the identity of the person who was under the dressing room, because he blurred his face, he has now re-shared a video that has given more to talk about because it is already possible to distinguish who stood under the popular character of La vecindad.
In a short clip recorded again on a film set, actor Juan Frese appears in a frame and in front of a blue screen, receiving indications from staff members of a production that could well be the bioseries that tells the life and career of the fellow producer and playwright, famous throughout Latin America .
“Almost... be on the lookout. The Project i son its way, stay tuned”, wrote the creator of “Ludovico P. Luche” and “Eloy Gamenó” in the publication that, without captivating the aforementioned actor, has so far reached 737,000 Likes.
Immediately, some of his followers recognized the actor, who has participated in comic productions on Televisa, such as The Privilege of Sending, Renta Congelada and This Story Sounds Like Me. At the same time, many other people highlighted the physical resemblance of the comedic actor to that of the deceased in 2014 in Cancun, Quintana Roo.
Some reactions caused a stir like the one on Chespirito's official account, which wrote: “You already exhibited us!” , which is why some people assumed that it is indeed the project endorsed by Roberto Gómez Fernández, which will deal with little-known aspects of the actor's life.
“It does look alike”, “Let's see if he doesn't use the double meaning and spoils the character of the guy”, “That man is from the forces that he has to feel super lucky to play that role, cheer up”, “Wow, just seeing that recognizable outfit excites me and I love it”, “Is it Juan Frese? That wey is not even laughing”, “I think nothing to do with the bioseries, is it?” , “My whole heart in a single project”, are some of the more than 400 comments that respond to Derbez's post.
Although for Chespirito fans and admirers the news could be a source of joy, it would undoubtedly not be the case for actor Lalo España, who for more than a year has publicly expressed his desire to bring Roberto Gómez Bolaños to life on screen.
The actor from Vecinos even recorded a video-casting characterized as some of the famous characters of the film producer. Some time later, Spain himself confirmed that the production of the bioseries had contacted him to hold the face-to-face auditions and that he had even been given his “callback”.
Spain commented on several occasions that because of his great admiration for Gómez Bolaños being able to embody him fills him with enthusiasm, however the recent images shared by Eugenio Derbez could mean that actor Juan Frese was the one who finally got the role.
It is worth mentioning that until now there has been no official statement from Grupo Chespirito, nor is it known which actors will give life to characters such as Florinda Meza, Rubén Aguirre, Edgar Vivar and María Antoineta de las Nieves.
On the other hand, it transpired that the series would start recordings beginning in April, so the dates would not match the images published by Derbez.
