Juan Camilo Hernandez, the 22-year-old Colombian attacker, has been talking about these days with his excellent performances in the Premier League. Five goals so far this season and an overall performance above 7.0 points, have allowed him to be in 22 of the 29 games that his team, Watford, has played.

His coach, Roy Hodgson, has recently spoken about it and commented that, despite not having been considered when he arrived on the team, he is becoming important and his game is really good. “One thing he obviously knows how to do is score when an opportunity presents himself,” he said. The striker, after converting Arsenal and Southampton, was chosen in the league's ideal eleven, along with names such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Alexander Arnold, among others.

There are many rumors around the former player from America de Cali about whether or not he will be part of Reinaldo Rueda's next call. The Colombian attacker has not been part of the national team since October 2018, when he made his debut with the senior squad, in a friendly match against Costa Rica in which he scored two goals, one of them has been the fastest, so far, of a debutant with the national team.

The lack of goal in the team led by Rueda has been the main problem since the beginning, but this goes beyond the names. This is an internal failure. Neither Borja, nor Zapata, nor Muriel, nor Falcao. None have managed to end the drought. A clear option seems to point to the Pereirano, who is on a roll and could be more than useful against Bolivia and Venezuela, and would have a better chance when the news broke that Falcao García would not be called for these commitments because of his injuries. However, it is not enough to bring more scorers, the team itself must change its mentality to achieve the long-awaited miracle of world championship qualification.

Along with that of Hernández, there are several names that prowl the possibility of integrating the squad of the Colombia National Team for these last games. One of the most popular is that of Luis Sinisterra, who has been acting in a good way with him Dutch Feyenoord. As far as Cucho is concerned, fears still circulate, especially since his “tantrum”, when he sent a message to Rueda through the press. “I don't know what I have to do to be there because in the end, if you look at the logic, I've been in Spain for four years. And not seeing that, but calling players who are in Mexico, MLS or Colombia is rare because they are different levels,” he said. His words cost him at the time, he was in the eye of the Colombian press hurricane and he had to apologize publicly through his Twitter account.

The truth is that today Cucho Hernández has everything ready to be called to the Colombia National Team, if the coach so chooses. If called up, it would be his first time in the qualifying round. There is no doubt that his present would be very useful for the team. A hope for a goal on his part, at a time like this, would not be bad at all.
