The children of Nora Dalmaso (51), killed 15 years ago in her home in Rio Cuarto, will testify today as witnesses at a new hearing during a jury trial against father Marcelo Macaron, the protagonist of the crime.

Both Valentina (30) and Pacundo Macaron (33), who lived abroad and recently returned to the province of Córdoba, expected to provide evidence related to “a businessman who was a friend” to accompany their father in the proceedings, making the family “the perpetrators of the murder.

Like her brother, Valentina, who claims her father's innocence, explained in a statement to the Telam agency that her family had already “provided a lot of evidence for suspects in crimes” during the investigation and that this line was “not investigated.” So this Wednesday they will “present a new element” in this regard.

The young woman also stated that throughout the investigation “a lot of lies were heard about the cause” and that “perhaps the crime that occurred in the country of Villa Golf on November 26, 2006 was also politicized.”

Valentina also mentioned the hypothesis of alleged marital disagreement between parents because the accusations were raised as one of the motivations for the crime. “My dad and mom loved each other. I could never kill them. My father is completely innocent.”

His brother, Facundo, described the mission as a “marmaracho,” just like his father. He investigated the prosecutor's office Luis Pizarro. Luis Pizarro accused him of hiring a hitman to commit his wife's crime during a golf tournament in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

“From a logical and legal point of view, a conviction can never be reached.” Because “the prosecutor's office has no evidence basis; he does not support objective facts that justify his father sitting on the defendant's bench today.” Facundo said.

In this regard, he added that “in the judicial history of Argentina, it was not an intellectual author who was convicted without knowing the material author.”

“There was no marriage crisis or divorce intention,” he claimed. “We have always been together. They were examples of love.” The young diplomat said when she led a demonstration in support of her father in front of a court where the trial was held with her sister Valentina.

In front of the court and the public jury that will handle the ruling, Marcelo Macarrón assured in a statement yesterday that he lived “destroyed by a depressive crisis” because his wife was killed and he thought “many times” about suicide. After making a statement for about 20 minutes, he stated that he was in a bad mood and stopped speaking.

“I can't continue. This trial took many years.” He said to the end. Earlier, he declared his acquittal. “Because the prosecutor's office is a liar, the prosecutor completely denies the accusations against me. I am innocent,” he said. “It is unreasonable to think that I am a murderer and hired a murderer,” he said.
