TORONTO (AP) — As of April 1, Canada will no longer require travelers who are vaccinated to show a COVID-19 test to enter the country.

A senior government official confirmed the change on Wednesday. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly on the issue prior to the official announcement.

Last month, Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos announced that travelers arriving in Canada could present a rapid antigen test at the border as an alternative to a more expensive molecular test.

The United States still requires travelers to show a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country.
