Argentinian Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo de Paul said they played “a great match” to win Manchester United 1-0 and get into the Champions League quarterfinals.
“We are very happy, it wasn't easy, we were coming to a field with a lot of history before a team of the biggest in the world,” De Paul told the Movistar+ platform after the match.
“We played a great game, we knew when to attack, when to push, when to suffer and we are in the next phase and very happy,” added the rojiblanco midfielder.
“It was an even match, that we both had possibilities,” said Rodrigo de Paul, who sees in this classification a new sample of the regularity regained by Atlético.
“In times of difficulty there are groups that weaken, this team did the opposite, we were training stronger every day and today it is a small reward, we want to continue, we are missing a lot in the league and we are good and whole,” he said.
Asked about the possibility of dreaming about the 'Orejona', the athletic midfielder said that “dreams are the engine you have inside, so why not allow Atlético to dream here”.
