After the legislative elections last Sunday, March 13, the Uribist activist Miguel Polo Polo managed to obtain a seat, not for the Democratic Center, but for the Afro special constituency with 35,253 votes (7.40%); in addition, his political ward, Senator María Fernanda Cabal, was re-elected to the Senate of the Republic with almost 200,000 votes.

Both Polo Polo and Cabal did not let their victories in the Congress of the Republic go unnoticed and, as expected, they celebrated their results with a particular pronouncement through their official Twitter accounts, where they were even seen partying celebrating that, for now, they have a seat in the Colombian parliament.

Then, the young man from Toludean, who will now be a congressman representing the negritudes of the country, assured that during his time in the House he will work for “a new right”. In the images he disseminated there is no room for happiness and he even warmly embraces the senator, who was ranked 100th on the list of Uribism.

And it was not the only pronouncement of the influencer; he had previously thanked his voters and said that in order to obtain the support that they give him a direct pass to Congress today, he allegedly confronted “political mafias in the Pacific and the Caribbean, and against the dirty campaign of the left,” he said, in turn leaving a message expressing his new appointment as representative to the House.

Although the Vallecaucano won just over 35,000 votes in the Afro constituency, several Colombians did not like the fact that it won the seat, so they questioned the requirements established by Law 649 of 2001 for citizens to practice in special national constituencies such as indigenous, Afros, among others, where it is assured that they must “be members of the respective community and previously endorsed by an organization registered with the Directorate of Black Communities Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior”, says the edict; that is, Polo Polo does meet the parameters, so its arrival in Congress, for now, is imminent.

However, it should be clarified that the controversial political activist is not part of the Colombian black communities and in order to aspire to the legislature, he had to receive the consent of the Community Council of Black Communities Fernando Ríos Hidalgo.Today a new RIGHT-WING political party is born. Thank you!” , added politician valluno on his social networks.

Polo Polo has become known in the country, mainly because of his closeness to Senator María Fernanda Cabal, and for being one of the most controversial figures on Twitter in Colombia. There are even Twitter users who claim that the now-elected congressman won his seat because of the grip he held during the campaign with comedian Alejandro Riaño.

The comedian used his character Juanpis González to mock the young uribist, which he didn't like at all. “Mr. Riaño. I don't know if I knew it, but article 220 says that anyone who makes dishonorable claims to another person shall incur sentences of between 16 and 54 months in prison and fines of between 13 and 1,500 minimum wages”, he affirmed through a video shared through a trill.
