Moments of despair and tension were experienced this morning in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Balvanera, where a young woman was rescued in time by City Firefighters, after threatening to jump into the void from the fifth floor of the building where she resides.
According to City Police sources told Infobae, a call to 911 alerted a woman who was about to throw herself from a building located in Viamonte in 2500, which was why City Firefighters and officers of the 3A Neighborhood Police were displaced. Given the urgent situation, the presence of the SAME and the Psychological Cabinet was requested.
Three crews of City Firefighters arrived at the scene and were deployed in three groups to carry out the rescue operation, before the watchful eyes of dozens of witnesses who watched what was happening.
While a group of rescuers deployed a rescue mattress and set up a hydrolift, a second delegation mobilized to the sixth floor. At the same time, other officers engaged in dialogue with women in order to persuade them to lay down their attitude.
Then, the firefighters who were on a higher floor than that of the young woman used a system of anchors and ropes, went down to the fifth floor and put the victim in shelter.
Out of danger, the woman was assisted by medical personnel and the psychological cabinet, and then transferred to Ramos Mejía hospital.
On the other hand, last Saturday, the personnel of the City Firefighters of the V Belgrano barracks had work in the neighborhood of Núñez because two of the seven occupants of a black Renault Kangoo that rolled over due to an apparent bad maneuver of the driver, who tested positive for breathalyzer, were trapped inside the utility and could not get out on their own. For their part, the remaining five people left by their own means and remained on the scene awaiting questioning by police authorities.
According to information released by the Undersecretary for Emergencies of the City, the accident occurred around 7 in the morning at the junction of Avenida del Libertador and Comodoro Rivadavia, when the van was heading from Buenos Aires Province to the Federal Capital. In the car were four males, one of them the driver, 29 years old, and three women. A bottle of vodka was also found.
The Flagrance Unit of the Northern Tax Unit, led by Dr. Norberto Brotto, ordered the intervention of the Road Division, the City Police and, in addition, the conduct of a breathalyzer test on the driver, the result of which was almost twice as high as allowed. Consequently, the magistrate ordered his arrest.
While the driver was subjected to the breathalyzer test and threw 0.96 degrees of alcohol in the blood, when the maximum allowed for a private driver in the City of Buenos Aires is 0.50, two of the occupants suffered severe multiple injuries and were taken to the Pirovano hospital.
It should be recalled that, since February of this year, a new Comprehensive Law on Road Coexistence entered into force, which establishes the removal of the license of between two and four months drive to anyone who tests positive for breathalyzer.
