Video: Camilo Vargas and Julián Quiñones, protagonists in the 1-1 draw between Puebla and Atlas

The Colombians from the red and black team of Guadalajara were present in the two goals of the match they played as visitors against the 'Franja'

The Atlas of Guadalajara, where Colombia's goalkeeper Camilo Vargas saves, remains undefeated in the 2022 clausura tournament with 11 points obtained in five matches played.

The rojinegros, the current champions of the Mexican first division football, faced Puebla at the Cuahtemoc Stadium on Friday night, February 11 wearing a yellow uniform and equalized 1-1 letting slip the three points in addition time with an impressive goal from Chilean striker converted by the striker Guillermo Martinez.

The goalkeeper was chosen as the best player of the championship in the consecration as champion of the Atlas of Guadalajara after almost 60 years (opening 2021) and has only conceded three goals in the five games that go on this season: against Club León on January 19; against Santos Laguna on February 6 and now against Puebla on February 11.

Another figure in the match was the centre-forward from Nariño, Julián Quiñones, who converted the first goal of the night to the 85th minute after VAR cancelled a goal for Puebla along the way and Paraguayan goalkeeper Antony Silva saved a maximum penalty to Argentinian Julio Furch de Atlas.

Development of the match:

Camilo Vargas became huge in the 17th minute of the match after being in a heads-up against Puebla's right-back, Gustavo Ferrareis. The Brazilian received a brilliant in-depth pass from Argentina's Federico Mancuello and Camilo was able to stretch his right leg in time to avoid falling his goal in the first clear approximation of the match:

In the 35th minute, the Colombian goalkeeper saved his goal again and gave a sigh to his teammates and coach Diego Cocca. A shot executed by Venezuelan Fernando Aristeguieta and blocked the Argentinian defender of Atlas, Hugo Nervo, left the entire goal served to Gustavo Ferrareis, who finished off point-blank on his right leg.

Ferrareis' shot bounced off and drifted in Hugo Nervo to the goal, but Camilo Vargas was able to send the shot to the side taking advantage of his reflections in the air:

Colombian striker Julián Quiñones received a yellow card for protesting referee Victor Cáceres after that action.

Second half:

In the 51st minute of the match VAR cancelled a mid-distance goal to Puebla converted by Israel Reyes. A double fault that made Edgar Zaldívar an action prior to the auction was reviewed several times by the referee who infringed Federico Mancuello and Lucas Maia.

In the 60th minute, a hand inside the area of Juan Pablo Segovia resulted in maximum penalty in favor of Atlas. The visitors appointed Argentina's Julio Furch to collect from the twelve steps and who looked perfect was Paraguayan goalkeeper Antony Silva after guessing the shot to the stick of his left hand.

Atlas drowned out the goal cry again in the 83rd minute, after Colombian striker Julián Quiñones scored ahead what would have been the 0-1 of the night at the Cuahtemoc Stadium.

The defending champion was able to react and shout the first goal in the 85th minute when Julián Quiñones made a diagonal in the middle lane of the court and after controlling and receiving the pass from Edgar Zaldívar, he got rid of his mark and broke Antony Silva's goal with a left-handed shot raised to his closest club, thus dedicating the goal to his daughter at the celebration.

Camilo Vargas, who was not so demanded about the end of the second half, won the goal of the date and worthy of a Puskás award. However, in the 90+4′, Guillermo Martínez invented a luxury goal and acrobatically sentenced the final 1-1.

It all came out of a band kick. The Mexican striker controlled a ball combed by Uruguayan Kevin Ramírez inside the Atlas area and with his head he raised the ball to make a perfect Chilean and sentence the draw with the euphoria and breath of the entire stadium on his side.

The goal scored by Memo Martínez returned Puebla to lead the Aztec championship, which together with Atlas, Cruz Azul and Monterrey are the only clubs undefeated so far in the tournament.

Puebla is first in the table with 11 points and a goal difference of +6, while Atlas is also a pursuer with 11 points and a goal difference of +4. Cruz Azul is third with 10 points and a goal difference of +4, while Monterrey will return from the Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates to play its fourth game of the Mexican season and improve 10th place with 5 points and a goal difference of +4.
