In recent years, Quintana Roo has gone from being the favorite beach destination for domestic and foreign tourists to one of the most dangerous states in the country.
On Tuesday morning, a bag containing human remains was found on Gaviota Azul beach, located at kilometer 9 of Cancun's hotel zone.
According to the first reports, it was tourists walking very early on the beach who found the black bag in the sand, who informed the staff of the hotel where they are staying, and later, they were around 12:00 to 911.
Elements of the State Police and Civil Protection arrived at the scene, as well as experts from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), who cordoned off the area to carry out the corresponding proceedings. It was confirmed that the bones are of a spine, a pelvis and a femur.
It is presumed that the bag with bones would have arrived with the waves, but so far there is no confirmation from the authorities, who packed the evidence for analysis.
However, it transpired that these human remains could belong to the Paraguayan tourist Francisco Luis Alberto Talavera, 26 years old, who was reported missing since last Sunday, March 6, when he was wearing a colorful swimsuit.
The young man was last seen at Playa Delfines, where he arrived to attend a wedding, so authorities deployed an operation since it is believed that he was pulled by the sea from there.
