The former governor of Nuevo León, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, better known as El Bronco, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, March 15 for his alleged participation in the crime of diversion of resources during the 2018 presidential campaign.
According to information released by the authorities, the capture was carried out in the municipality of General Terán, which was headed by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Electoral Crimes (FEDE) with support from the entity's Civil Force.
It was also reported that the former independent candidate for the Presidency of the Republic was transferred to Prison No. 2, located in the municipality of Apodaca.
Given the dissemination of this information, the name of the regiomontano politician, as well as the current president of Nuevo León, became a trend on social networks and in the main internet search engines.
One of the first issues that came out was one of the proposals issued by the former head of the local executive when he competed for the presidency in 2018. And it is that during a presidential debate, of the three that there were, he proposed to “mow the hands” of people who committed acts of corruption.
So, being accused of this misconduct, netizens imagined what Jaime Rodríguez's reaction would be like to being subjected to the sentence he proposed:
However, many indicated that, in the coming days, he could regain his freedom:
However, many others recalled the confessions that other social actors have expressed during interviews with Yordi Rosado; so they imagined that in the future Samuel García could confess whether or not he had anything to do with the former governor's arrest:
Likewise, many others imagined and thought how surprised the Bronco was to arrest this day:
While others resorted to the memory that brings with it the nickname of the politician, since the Bronco group made a video in prison and many have already given it as the official images of the regiomontano in prison:
However, the Neolean citizens pointed out what the relationship between El Bronco, Samuel Garcia and Mariana Rodríguez is like in the entity, since they have disputed political power during several electoral processes:
So, many imagined how it was that Samuel Garcia acted before supposedly “giving the order” that the former governor be apprehended:
However, in another reaction, many netizens questioned the reason for the null or late reaction of the Federalist Alliance, since Jaime Rodríguez was one of its founders when he served as president of Nuevo León:
Finally, others thought about the bad day that El Bronco is experiencing, “very similar” to what Cristiano Ronaldo experienced during the football match that he played on Tuesday afternoon:
It should be noted that his detention dates back to the complaint filed by the current governor of the entity, Samuel García, in 2018 when the latter assumed his post as Senator of the Republic.
Four years ago, Garcia pointed out that Rodríguez Calderón had misused state resources to collect signatures and thus validate his candidacy to run for president independently.
That case was known as “Bronchosignas”. And it is that minutes after his arrest, Samuel García shared a video on his social networks where he assured that his government is incorruptible and asserted that “whoever made it, pays it”.
