After two years of pandemic due to COVID19, video game conferences are once again setting the agenda in person. But since 2019, it has been learned that one of the keys to events is to have an important online presence that allows spectators from all over the world to come together to enjoy the show. What dates do you need to keep in mind to keep abreast of gaming news?
Game Developer's Conference (March 21-25)
The event takes place in San Francisco (California, United States) and its virtual access starts at $649, with the possibility of accessing its historical sessions from its exclusive platform. The GDC is a key date in which developers from around the world participate in roundtables to showcase their work, hear first-hand advances in video game technology and participate in talks by creators of triple A experiences.
During the conference, the Independent Games Festival (March 23), the Game Developers Awards (March 23) and the Alt.Ctrl.GDC (a video game show floor with alternative controls) will be held.
Gamergy 2022 (April 15-17)
The first Argentine edition will be held in Tecnópolis (in Buenos Aires) with a strong focus on esports championships and will feature arenas related to League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Free Fire and Wild Rift.
E3 2022 (date to be announced)
The historic Electronic Entertainment Expo suffered a colossal blow at the beginning of the pandemic, when it should have become one of the first events to be canceled just before the quarantine. Since then, the Entertainment Software Association decided to hold the event virtually in order to “take care of the health of the attendees”.
There are many rumors that E3, one of the experiences that marked the commercial gaming agenda, doesn't have much time left. Before 2019, many major exhibitors - such as Sony and EA - had already officially withdrawn from the conference stage and marked the gradual decline that many critics observed.
Summer Game Fest (date to be announced)
The video game event was created after the suspension of E3 2020 and will return with a gala created by Geoff Keighley. The first edition left its place marked after gathering the announcements that had been cut short by the successive cancellations of events and gave concrete form to digital proposals.
Gamescom 2022 (August 24 to August 28)
The largest video game event in Europe returns with a hybrid format combining face-to-face and digital formats. As a preview, the acclaimed host Geoff Keighley will host the Opening Night Live on the night of the 23rd, a tradition that began during the first edition held in the pandemic.
Tokyo Game Show 2022 (September 15 to September 18)
Under the slogan “Nothing stops Gaming”, TGS will return to face-to-face to set an agenda from the Asian market. On the conference floor there will be six areas ranging from independent video games exhibitions, new games and mobile technology, school productions and exclusive merchandising.

The end of the year is marked by The Game Awards, a gala that celebrates the best games, events, creators and creators of online content and video games. This is one of the key dates for the announcement of titles to follow during the following year.
