After several days without appearing on his YouTube channel, Noticias Caracol host Juan Diego Alvira told his followers that he had remained away from the social network due to a health problem that has been plaguing him for the past few weeks: insomnia.
Using a video explaining that insomnia is the “disturbance or discomfort during sleep”, Alvira began his video by assuring his followers that “the little problem” that had distanced him in recent weeks had been completely “mortifying”.
According to the journalist from Noticias Caracol, his health problem has kept him awake for “more than three times a week”, a situation that he described as “a permanent drill in the head”, especially considering his working day for which, he said, he must get up between 3:30 and 4:00 in the morning.
However, the presenter gave his followers some peace of mind by telling them that, despite suffering insomnia, he has not been in an extreme state of fatigue and that, little by little, he is improving.
It should be remembered that this is not the first health problem that Juan Diego Alvira and his family have to face. In mid-2021, the Caracol News anchor revealed that he and his wife had decided not to have any more children, at least for the time being, due to health complications during his wife's pregnancy.
While he and his family were on vacation, the presenter made a live broadcast through his Instagram account where, in the company of his wife Ana María Escobar, they solved one of the biggest unknowns that their followers had: if they would have more children in the future.
His wife confirmed the information provided by the presenter, recounting that Alvira told him that he would rather have a wife and a daughter than have two children who did not have a mother. “Juandi said I would rather have a wife and a daughter than have two daughters, but not have their mother. We started the whole process of doing a thousand tests and it was established that there was a high possibility that some kind of risk would be generated either for me or for the baby. We're not going to take that risk,” Escobar explained.
Faced with the possible risks, the couple reiterated that, for the time being, they do not consider having more children. “It's a very high risk that we don't want to have,” said Juan Diego Alvira's wife. However, they did not rule out the possibility of enlarging the family in the future, as long as “there was an alternative that would reduce those risks”.
