Prejudice and stigmatization are just two issues that thousands of former combatants have to face every day. After signing the Peace Agreement in 2016, through the Territorial Focus Development Program (PDET), it was decided to return to civilian life and lead a life away from war.
For this reason, in order to reduce the exclusion in which a large part of the reinserted population is sacrificed, the documentary 'Scars of the Earth' was produced and directed by filmmaker Gustavo Fernández. And since his work was very important in the video, he conducted research that led to the script created for this project.
Four voices of former combatants make up a documentary that seeks the audience's reflection on their experiences and the entire burden of armed conflicts they carry out. These reinserted people were placed by Fernandez himself in the territorial space for training and reorganization - ETCR -, where he built his own house with the support of the Organization for the Establishment and Normalization of the Fund Corporation.
Janeth, William, Fabian, and David are the four main characters of the documentary. All of them have a difficult story that they began to forge when they were young when they decided to join the ranks of the FARC, which became extinct due to national neglect, conviction or 'war'. It also aims to build a family without forgetting the roots of Farian.
Each testimony contributed spontaneously to the composition of the narrative, and according to the director, there were some things in common between the four stories, and documentaries began to rotate and explored the story to the point of evoking intimate memories, corresponding to past lives.
Now, in connection with its realization, 'The Scar of the Earth' was filmed between 2016 and 2020 at five locations: Icononzo -Tolima-; Macanal-Boyaca-; Puerto Asia -Futumayo-; Neiba and Bogota.Titanic work performed by Fernández in support of the distribution of Danta Cine with Guateque Cine.

In addition, the director points out that the 118th minute feature was born in an atypical way, since it was the result of impulsive actions that initiated negotiations between the government and the extinct FARC, which generated an immediate effect of grabbing a video camera and approaching several passers-by. I went through a hippy park and wanted to know the reaction to a historical conversation.
After passing the 'election projector' after No's victory in the 2016 referendum, his camera lens transferred a former combatant to the re-corporation space a year later, which caught the sign that the agreement was bearing its first fruits by 2017. The first murderer of social leaders and electronicfighters such as Dimar Torres, who was killed by a soldier, became known.
