Teachers of the State Coordinator of Education Workers (CETEG), together with retirees and pensioners, blocked for more than 10 hours several of the accesses to the road in Chilpancingo Guerrero.
The protesters settled on Vicente Guerrero Boulevard in Chilpancingo from 10 a.m. this Monday, March 14. At 11:10 they moved to the Mexico-Acapulco Autopista del Sol where they blocked 4 lanes and remained until around 23:00 hours at night.
About 3,500 members attended for the blockade about 200 meters from the state government offices to demand a solution to the petition they submitted to the educational authorities in December.
They also demanded to meet with the governor of the state of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, to conduct the negotiations. In the absence of responses from the government, they maintained the blockade that lasted until 11 pm.
Shortly before 22:00 at night, CETEG removed the blockade it maintained in the lanes from south to north for vehicles coming from Acapulco to Chilpancingo and at 23:00 at night they withdrew from the north to south lanes.
Later they moved to the outskirts of the Government Palace. They threatened to maintain such actions in the event that negotiations are not established with the governor of the state to resolve their demands such as that places are not delivered through the State Unit of the System for the Career of Teachers and Teachers (Uesicamm), that the 90-day bonus be legislated and attend to retirees and pensioners.
They also demand the total repeal of the educational reform, a salary increase, budget approval for the Under-Secretariat for Education of the Indigenous Peoples of Guerrero, among other things.
Throughout the day, different users posted on their social networks their complaints about the long waiting time due to the obstruction of the road, expressing their dissatisfaction with CETEG members and with the government for not ensuring the release of the transport route.
“The blockade by the members of the State Coordinator of Education Workers #CETEG leaves thousands of people in #Chilpancingo in detention for more than 6 hours. We already want to get to Acapulco #Guerrero,” commented a user who was trapped in during the blockade.
