Step by step: Northeast Cartel tried a culiacanazo to rescue the “Egg” Treviño

The hours of terror in Nuevo Laredo over the arrest of Juan Gerardo Treviño Chavez, el Huevo, resulted from the Northeast Cartel attempting a culiacanazo to rescue its greatest leader and attacked military installations, including those where family members of staff lived military.

As soon as they found themselves without their top leader, members of the criminal group deployed 13 drug blockades on different roads in the border city. They went to the sector where relatives of the soldiers live and there carried out up to six gunshot attacks. They didn't hurt anyone, although the shootings were heard outside.

They also went to the military barracks, where they attacked seven more times during the night and early morning. In total there were 38 attacks for the entire culiacanazo attempt. Some network users complained that they had decided to live near those military facilities.

They wanted Sedena to give way like that Black Thursday, when federal forces released Joaquín Guzmán Loera's son, el Chapo, in the afternoon. The president was about to travel from Mexico City to Oaxaca and learned about the operation in the middle of the Sinaloa Cartel bastion.
