(Bloomberg) — Spotify Technology SA, a music streaming service, has signed a historic agreement to place its name on the uniforms and stadiums of FC Barcelona, one of the most successful football teams in the world.
FC Barcelona will change the name of the stadium to Spotify Camp Nou in July following a long-term contract that will continue through the renovation of the facility. The Spotify brand will appear on the athlete's shirts for the next four years, starting with the 2022-23 season, the company stated in a statement.Spotify said it would use sponsorship to promote music artists.
For a long time, large companies have benefited from boosting their business and establishing positive relationships with teams that fans love by paying huge sums to put their name on sports stadiums. The report linked stadium deals to 500 million euros ($547 million), one of the most expensive sponsored deals in the world.The parties did not disclose the conditions.
