The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, considered this Tuesday, in a speech addressed to Congress that the population is being led to believe that his government is immersed in acts of corruption, but what rejected “sharply”. He assured that he will not shield any official or family member who has committed any crime and called it a lie that he has met or that he has links with the aspiring effective collaborator, Karelim López.
“A while ago, it is repeated in the media, that I would have met and would have links with Mrs. Karelim López. However, his defense says quite the opposite. This is just one example of the lies that are being built against this government and that, over time, are falling down,” said the president.
“I completely agree that the Prosecutor's Office has all the information and continues with open investigations,” he added.
The head of state arrived at the parliament building on foot from Palacio, minutes before 5 p.m. accompanied by Vice President Dina Boluarte; the premier, Aníbal Torres, and several of the ministers of state.
