Hundreds of people accompanied the friends, family and other relatives of the young Yenni Karolain Nohava during the funeral honors that took place on March 14 in the municipality of Circasia, Quindio. Wearing white t-shirts and bombs, they paid tribute in the form of a demonstration to reject the heinous crime of which he was the victim last Friday and ask the authorities for justice.
After his funeral, the progress of the investigations carried out by a special group of the Sijín, CTI and the Judicial Police of Bogotá and Circasia have been known, in order to determine how the events occurred. The young woman went out on March 11, apparently to walk her dogs and disappeared. It was found hours later in the area known as Bremen, a wooded area of the road that leads to the Membrillal trail.
So far, it is known that the young woman presented several signs of violence and would have stabbed wounds, according to Caracol Radio; but no more has been known about the necropsy performed by Medicina Legal after recovering the body that was thrown into a rock of almost 15 meters in a hard-to-reach area.
The authorities opened 27 investigative activities, according to Justino Hernández Murcia, departmental sectional director of prosecutors, told the newspaper La Crónica del Quindio. For the time being, it was possible to dismiss one of the hypotheses that had been established by the authorities at the beginning, to conclude that the homicide was not for theft. In other words, the mobiles for which Karolain Nohava was killed were different from stripping her of her belongings.
Likewise, the investigation could indicate that not a single person would be responsible for the murder, but that several people may have participated, according to Noticias Caracol, who are being identified and captured.
The commander of the Quindío Police, Colonel Jorge Mauro Córdoba Valencia, said at a press conference that the progress of the investigations is kept under reserve, but announced that results will be available soon.
“The only thing we can say is that we are on a good path in the investigation and in the development of it, we hope in the coming days to deliver the clarification of the crime with facts,” said the commander of the Quindio Police.
On Monday morning, a public order committee convened by the mayor of Circasia Ana Yulieth Diaz Ubaque was also held, together with the commander of the Police and the Army to determine urgent actions. The president asked for speed and the full weight of the law for the person or those responsible.
That municipal committee also approved an appeal for $10,000,000 in reward to anyone who provides information on the whereabouts of the person responsible for the death of Yenni Karolain Nohava. Those who can collaborate can do so through the CTI line for information: 318 347 1818 with absolute reservation.
The rejection of crime also reached Armenia, where the 20-year-old was studying the seventh semester of her law degree at the headquarters of the La Gran Colombia University. At that alma mater the colleagues and institutional directors met to pay tribute to the memory of the young woman and reject, once again, the crime.
Koralin's younger sister, whom she had taken care of during her mother's stay abroad, was present at that event. The young woman assured, in dialogue with Caracol Radio, that the police did not respond to the family's call for disappearance on Friday morning, but that she has accompanied them after finding the body. The university, for its part, established three days of mourning without mass activities; they will return the money for the semester to help the victim's relatives financially and offered a scholarship to the minor.
