Accompanied by his daughter Valentina, Marcelo Macarrón arrived today in the courts of Rio Cuarto for the key hearing of his life: he will testify in the popular jury trial that he is the only one accused of the brutal crime of his partner and mother of his children, Nora Dalmasso, committed at the country Villa Golf in the city of Cordoba in 2006.

His children support him and believe in his innocence. Facundo, his eldest son, now a diplomat, came from Europe to support him and also plans to testify as a witness in the trial next week together with Valentina. Yesterday, they led a march in front of the courts and held a dialogue with the press.

Thus, the widower charged with the crime of “homicide qualified by the bond, alevosia and price or remuneratory promise”, in the absence of a last-minute change, will testify before the eight popular juries and before the technical judges of the Court of Rio Cuarto, Daniel Antonio Vaudagna; Natacha Irina García and Gustavo José Echenique Esteve.

Macarrón is accused of being the mastermind of Dalmasso's crime. Prosecutor Luis Pizarro claims that one or two hit men hired by him strangled his wife with the bow of her robe and with their hands at her request while playing in a golf tournament in Punta del Este. In the process, about 300 witnesses will be paraded in three weekly hearings. The file has about 7000 records spread over 34 bodies, plus eight appendices of evidence.
