At 8:30 a.m. there was a slide of the Retama hill over the town center in the Parcoy district. With more than 60 houses buried and multiple wounded, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) activated its initial intervention brigades to move to the area and care for the affected population.

In this way, an airlift is being coordinated between Lima and Pataz, in La Libertad, so that ambulances and medical personnel can support those who require it.

For his part, President Pedro Castillo also reported that support will be provided to affected families from other institutions. He said this through his Twitter account.

“I have arranged for the head of Indeci and the Minister of Defense (José Gavidia) to go to the area affected by the landslide in the province of Pataz,” he said.

It is known that the Minister of Defense, José Luis Gavidia, is mobilizing to the emergency zone together with a rapid response team from the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci).
