The pair of Colombian doublers Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah prematurely said goodbye to the Indian Wells Masters 1.000 doubles tournament after falling against Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz in the round of 16. The Wimbledon and US Open champions will be at the Masters 1.000 in Miami.

The match was defined in two sets with 6-1 and 6-4 partials, highlighting the difficult moment that Cabal and Farah are going through, the fourth favorite couple to win the title in the Californian tournament. The match that lasted one hour and one minute had three double faults by the coffee growers against zero from their rivals.

In the ATP rankings, Taylor Fritz is number 180 on the doubles list while Tommy Paul is number 199. In the first round of the championship, the Colombians defeated Italy's Janik Sinner and North American Sebastian Korda in two sets with partials 7-6 (8) and 6-2. While the local couple beat the Spaniards Carlos Alcaráz and Pablo Carreño Busta.

The next tournament facing Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah will be the Miami Masters 1.000, which will start on March 21 and run until April 3. It has not been an easy year for the national couple who have not managed to advance from the round of 16 in the tournaments in which they participated in this 2022 (ATP 250 Sydney, Australian Open, ATP 500 in Rio, ATP 500 in Acapulco and Masters 1.000 from Indian Wells).

In the Davis Cup series against the United States for a place in the world group, Juan Sebastián Cabal could not be a partner of Robert Farah, after the latter accusing physical discomfort. In this match, Nicolás Barrientos was replaced by Vallecaucano.

From the Qualifying round, Daniel Galán began the path of Daniel Galán. The world's 103 first faced Kazakh Dmitry Popko, whom he defeated with partials 6-4 and 7-5. He later fell in the final of the qualifying draw to the American J.J. Wolf 7-6 and 6-2.

For her part, Camila Osorio came to this tournament at a great time after playing the final of the WTA 250 in Monterrey. There she lost to Canadian Leylah Fernández, finalist of the US Open in 2021, in three sets with 6-7, 6-4 and 7-6 partials.
