Jefferson Farfan: Alianza Lima spoke out on his recovery and his possible return to the courts

The striker has not yet added minutes in the 2022 Liga 1, but the idea is that he will reappear and be enabled for the Peruvian national team matches on the last double date.

Alianza Lima wants to have its entire squad to play in the 2022 Liga 1 and the Copa Libertadores with all their weapons. However, with some players they must go as a lot of patience, as is the case with Jefferson Farfan, who does not yet have minutes this year and has been recovering from his knee. José Bellina, sports manager of the club, talked about when they are thinking about their return to the courts.

“There is one undeniable truth that is the player's desire. Something that we and all want is that Farfan can also be qualified for the upcoming matches with the Peruvian National Team,” the director 'blanquiazul' commented in an interview with Willax Deportes.

In addition, he commented that they must make a plan for their return to the playing field with the idea that it will arrive in the best form. “Taking all these arguments into account, it is important to establish a plan and make a process so that he can reach him in the best way at certain times and to certain parties.”

On the other hand, he commented that they are not thinking about whether he should only play on the plain and rule out the height. “At no time, when we have spoken, have we not eliminated the option that he only plays in Lima or this yes or no is selected, but it is a matter of continuation, loads and rehabilitation, so we are sure that he will be able to play on any court.”

WHEN DOES THE PERUVIAN NATIONAL TEAM PLAY AGAIN?

The 'white-red' will reappear in South American Qualifiers against Uruguay in Montevideo, within the framework of the penultimate date of the Conmebol tournament and where many things are defined. This match will be played on March 23 and Jefferson Farfan's idea, as José Bellina explains, is to be present in this commitment.

The last match that Alianza Lima would have before that date would be the match against FBC Melgar de Arequipa on March 12 for the sixth date of the Apertura Tournament. Then Ricardo Gareca will give the squad list and, as Juan Carlos Oblitas said, the idea is that the players from Liga 1 called to the national team will work at Videna a week earlier (March 14 approximately).

Remember that the 'whites' will play against Alianza Atlético de Sullana this Sunday, February 27 and then they will have to face Sporting Cristal for the fifth date on Sunday, March 06. Gustavo Peralta, sports journalist, commented that the 'Foquita' may be present for the duel against the 'celestes'.

THE LAST TIME JEFFERSON FARFAN PLAYED

The 'Foquita' has not disputed an official commitment since the match against Sporting Cristal at the National Stadium, where Alianza Lima drew 0-0 and managed to be crowned national champion. From there he was only training with the 'whites and blues' and also with the Peruvian national team, which makes a special follow-up. Let's remember that Jefferson Farfan was called up for the international friendlies against Panama and Jamaica, but he was not considered because he was in a flu process. He was also called up for matches against Colombia and Ecuador for the South American Qualifiers, but was not considered for his knee injury.
