Following the situation between Russia and Ukraine, the highest football entity in the world, FIFA, has taken some measures against Russia's behavior, as it was announced a few days ago that the country's national team will not be able to participate in the Qatar World Cup, which is a few months away.

Through social networks, several cases have been reported of athletes who have called on the different governments to help end the conflict between two countries and, in addition, to carry out some humanitarian flights so that, in this case, footballers can leave both Ukraine and Russia.

In the case of Colombians, there are three players who are playing in Russian teams. Wilmar Barrios, plays for Zenit, Jhon Córdoba in Krasnodar and Jorge Carrascal at CSKA Moscow, the latter, the most recent to arrive in this country.

In the case of Jhon Córdoba, although his contract with the Russian club is signed until June 30, 2025, the Bisonte is not authorized to play with the green team as the same club suspended its contractual relationship on March 3 at the request of the same coffee athlete.

As a result of the geopolitical conflict between Russia and Ukraine, players Wanderson Maciel, Caio, Eric Bootheim, Christian Ramirez, Junior Alonso, Jhon Córdoba, Victor Klasson and Rémy Cabella have left the club's location and will train on their own, while their contracts are in force.

The Colombian player was left as a free agent and in that sense a FIFA decision would protect him to sign for any team with whom he reached an agreement, by way of exception. In that regard, the former Envigado FC player would have a new professional challenge at Italian Calcio.

In an interview with 'Blog Deportivo', from 'Blu Radio', the Chocó footballer said that he had never thought about leaving a team when there was a contract involved. “It never crossed my mind to terminate my contract. I am a professional and have always fulfilled the clubs in the best way. Time will tell everything, this is a time when saying something concrete is difficult, you have to wait.”

He added that: “The time I spent, everything was quiet, but we are aware of the situation in the country and I hope that everything will be resolved quickly.”

In addition, he confessed that, even if he left the country and started playing for another team, he might have to return to Russia since he has a four-year contract. “Right now, I'd have to talk to the team to see what's best for us. I'll think about the personal and my family... I don't know, this can change from one day to the next. I don't know when it's my turn to go back to Russia. I have a four-year contract,” he said.
