“El Huevo” Northeast Cartel leader Treviño was extradited to the United States

Juan Gerardo Treviño Chavez, El Huevo, was extradited to the United States after Tamaulipas authorities managed to capture him in Nuevo Laredo on Sunday, March 13.

Local media indicated that the leader of the Northeast Cartel arrived in Tijuana in the first minutes of Tuesday, March 15, to be handed over to the US authorities. The delivery of El Huevo took place at the border crossing in Tijuana, Baja California, on the bridge that connects to San Diego, California.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Sheriff's Service received Gerardo Treviño 20 minutes after midnight on Tuesday, in a strong security operation to prevent possible attacks by the Northeast Cartel.
