Between Thursday 14 and Sunday 17 April the long holiday of Easter will take place in Argentina. Like every year, it is an ideal occasion for Argentines who want to enjoy a short getaway with friends, family or alone.

“We have great expectations, the numbers that are coming to us from the main destinations in the country indicate that we are going to live a record Holy Week, in line with the main weekends of the summer season, with occupations above 90%,” said the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, and said: “These figures are strongly supported by PreViaje, which allowed the season to be extended during March and April, with more than 750,000 people traveling around the country during this period. One of the most important summer season of the last 20 years in Argentina is undoubtedly culminating.”

It is one of the most important dates outside the high season for the Argentine tourism sector, as every year thousands of travelers take the opportunity to visit an Argentine destination. For this reason, Infobae contacted travel agencies to identify the most relevant Easter destinations and the available tourist packages.

Ushuaia, one of the most popular domestic destinations to travel during Easter

“It is important to note that Ahora 12 purchases are active. Many of the products and services that are purchased in the country come from the hand of this program, which became an important relief to be able to distribute the payment that involves assuming the cost of a mini-vacation such as those proposed by Easter,” said Guido Boutet, Marketing Manager of TTS Viajes.

The agency he represents highlighted that the most popular national destinations for Easter are Ushuaia, Iguazú and El Calafate. The packages for these tourist spots are:

- Ushuaia: $99.000 por persona.

- Iguazu: $52,000 per person.

- Calafate: $94.000 por persona.

In all three examples the departure is on April 14 and includes flights, accommodation for 3 nights with breakfast and transfers included (for Calafate also excursions).

From the same travel agency they reported the packages available for the most popular international destinations at Easter:

Meanwhile, Paula Cristi, General Manager of Despegar for Argentina and Uruguay, said that the Previaje “not only drove the advance purchase for the long weekend of Easter, but also provided the opportunity for those who had Previaje credit and had not used it, to be able to book their trips. We offer the advantage of being able to buy with both the pre-loaded card and the BNA+ wallet. The domestic destinations that are in the ranking of the most chosen for Easter are Iguazú, Mendoza and Bariloche.” For these destinations, the travel agency offers the following packages from April 14th to 17th:

On the other hand, Brenda Gache, Packages & Cross Manager Non Air Product at Avantrip, said, like her aforementioned colleague, that Previaje helped boost Easter sales. His agency detected that the best-selling national destinations are Bariloche, Iguazú, El Calafate, Ushuaia, Mendoza and Salta.
