Due to new works, two lanes of the North Highway in Bogotá are closed, users upset with the trancones

The Mobility Secretariat reported that the closure will last until March 22 and asks citizens to abide by the recommendations of the traffic management plan.

On Tuesday, citizens have reported their complaints through their social networks due to a monumental stall that is presented on the North Highway in Bogotá, is that the Ministry of Mobility authorized the closure of the two lanes of the North Highway at 100 Street in the South - North direction, where the works will be carried out on foundation of the new pedestrian bridge.

“These work activities will begin from 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 and will end at 05:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022,” said Mobility.

According to the entity, the works will be carried out by the contractor Consortium Eucharistic Carrera 68 and with auditing by Mab Ingeniería de Valor. They will take about a week and end on Tuesday, March 22.

Likewise, he explained that users who travel in the South - North direction on the North Highway will continue to travel along the three lanes that will be enabled on the fast road and along the three lanes of the slow road.

The alternate routes that are available are:

• Users traveling in a South - North direction on the North Highway may take the av. carrera 19 to the north.

• Users traveling in a South - North direction on NQS Avenue and taking the North Highway to the North, will be able to continue on NQS Avenue to the North and Race 19 North.

As for pedestrian access such as platforms and existing infrastructure for pedestrians, it will not be affected by any kind, so pedestrians will be able to circulate normally through infrastructure intended for them.

For cyclists, the existing cycle route will continue to operate on the Eastern and Western platform of the North Highway.

They also make some recommendations such as that cyclists and pedestrians travel through the areas designated for them, as well as making crossings at intersections and sites designated for that purpose, and that drivers travel with caution and abide by the signage provided in the PMT area of influence.

In addition, the Mayor's Office reported that new road closures will now be presented on the northern highway, due to the construction of the first metro line.
