Anel Noreña, former wife of singer José José, lashed out at a 23-year-old who registered the name of the performer for a brand of tequila.
And, recently, this person appeared in an interview with Ventaneando and delved into the fact that he made a request to the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) to start selling an alcoholic beverage with the name of José José.
The student at the Higher Technological Institute of Fresnillo had this idea in the company of some of his colleagues in the field of International Law and Customs, however, rather than leaving it in a school project, he decided to take it into real life without knowing what conflicts he might get into.
“Of course nothing belongs to the young man, even if he has paid for it, they are not going to give it to them, the brand is mine. He is a very irresponsible boy and even disrespectful because as you will understand I am not going to put José José on any wine, tequila or anything that has alcohol,” Anel Noreña commented to Ventaneando.
The artist remarked that she was the one who had all the legal rights and stressed that her representative approached the young man to curb his intentions.
“My graduate spoke to him and then (the student) said: 'Oh, I didn't know' and I don't know what. We are not interested in selling José José as a name or brand and as nothing else. No sir, much less to sell alcohol,” he clarified.
In this regard, Noreña recalled the implications that alcoholic beverages had on the life of the singer of Gavilán or Paloma, as it was an important factor that affected not only him, but all his loved ones.
“Alcohol undid our lives. I'm not interested, the names are mine. Although he paid, they stole his money, with that I tell you everything. They're not going to give him the mark or anything and he got into a legal mess,” he concluded.
It should be remembered that José José's life was not easy and his addictions to alcohol and drugs were a determining factor for the singer.
The performer of El Triste was an alcoholic for 30 years and used cocaine to stay more or less sober during the days of his concert. In several interviews, he reports that he only has blurred memories of the 90s, 91 and 92, the time when he went through his divorce with Anel, the mother of his first children, and came to live in a taxi with other addicts.
Even in an old interview, José Joel, son of the singer, said that he learned about his father's alcoholism when he was 11 years old.
In addition, something that was also known, was that during the artist's relapses, he habitually disappeared. But his breaking point came when he began to have other diseases and the loss of voice.
“The telephonazos e r an: 'we saw him lying on the street'. 'We saw him sleeping in a taxi. ' 'I don't think we even saw it anymore; I think it didn't even dawn anymore'. 'Madam, come and recognize the corpse, 'José Joel would say.
Despite all of the above, José José finally stopped drinking and resumed a new life with his wife Sara, whom he pointed out that he helped him get out of that abyss of addiction into which he had fallen.
