For the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 series, Ajax will play against Benfica at the Johan Cruyff Arena. The match will have the referee of Spaniard Carlos Del Cerro and will be followed throughout Latin America by Fox Sports.

After playing a great role in the group stage and winning six victories, Erik ten Hag's team put their demolition machine to the test in Lisbon, where they faced a Benfica that was not going through its best moment, but despite that, scored a 2-2 draw. Now, everything will be defined in the Netherlands.

In the face of tonight's match in Europe, the locals will bet on Onana in the goal before the loss of starter Remko Pasveer. One of the Dutch's biggest bets to advance to the quarterfinals is the figure of Sebastien Haller. The Ivory Coast striker is, so far, one of the biggest stars of the competition: he scored 11 goals so far in the competition. What's more, in the first leg, he turned a goal into his own door and then scored one of Ajax's two goals.

In the case of the locals, they are on a positive streak. They won their last three matches and one of them allowed them to qualify for the Netherlands Cup final after 1-0 against AZ Alkmaar. For their part, in the Eredivisie league, they have come from beating Cambuur and Waalwijk (3-2) by the same result, which allows them to stay at the top of the positions with 63 points, two more units than PSV.

For their part, the Portuguese do not know if they will be able to count on a key piece in the first leg. The Ukrainian Roman Yaremchuk, who scored the final 2-2 in Lisbon, suffers from a feverish picture and would not be from the match. The other one in doubt is Nicolás Otamendi: the defender of the Argentine national team has discomfort in one ankle.

In the domestic tournament, Benfica comes from equaling 1-1 against FC Vizela and is far from the top of the Portuguese championship: it has 58 points, 12 less than Porto - it leads with 70 units - and is also behind Sporting Lisboa.

After not qualifying for the last edition, Las Águilas will seek to strike the blow and leave out one of the candidates who, despite not having the stars of other teams such as the Premier League, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, already showed his credentials in the group stage.
