The memes that circulate on social networks after the shooting and controversy of the AIFA

The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) this weekend gave a lot to talk about, from the change of the logo, the lock that collapsed last Saturday to the lack of transport for cyclists. As always, public opinion is noticed on social networks through memes.

After two years of construction, and two weeks after the inauguration of the Felipe Angeles International Airport, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Chief of Government of the Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, this Sunday, March 13, held the event “Move by bike at Santa Lucia airport”, a project that was carried out with the aim of getting people to know the property.

The event began at 9:00 in the morning until 18:00 in the afternoon, and exceeded 5000 people, who were transported in 12 units of the Public Transport Network (RTP), which departed from different parts of Mexico City.

Unfortunately, the CDMX Government was bad with the athletes since the RTP units were not enough to transport

to get everyone to the airport because from 8:00 in the morning there were large lines to board the transport.

Unfortunately, in the early morning of this Saturday, the day before the event, an AIFA concrete lock fell, taking the life of a worker who was carrying out operations of the highway distributor that will connect to Mexico's new air terminal. The event took place on the Lago de Guadalupe-Texcoco section of the Mexiquense Outdoor Circuit (CEM).

It should be noted that despite what happened, President Andrés Manuel López and Claudia Sheinbaum will not delay the inauguration of AIFA on February 23. Apparently, activities will only be suspended for a few days.

On the other hand, since 2021, the International Airport has already had controversies, because on April 20, 2002, the authorities of the airport complex requested the cancellation of the logo before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), after it was classified on social networks as “ugly” and “unprofessional”.

As a result of these three situations, a large number of memes have been published on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

In this meme taken from Facebook, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is in his presidential office, with his son Jesús Ernesto, Obrador's youngest son, who with a little-updated Paint program he asks, add a Mammoth to make him look “more mamalón”.

This meme has been one of the favorites of users because “the mammoth” in the airport logo was the most criticized by public opinion.

Another meme that has caused a stir on social media is the one that refers to the film “Tarzan”, because in the Disney film they use the phrase “He will never be one of us”, so at the top is the primate herd that hosts Tarzan, with the names of the country's airports: “Pachuca International Airport”, “Queretaro International Airport” and “Cancun International Airport”.

In the film they discriminate against Tarzan for being human, so at the bottom they add the AIFA logo, referring to the fact that this airport does not have the same quality as other airports.

Finally, another meme that went around the world on social networks, was the one that refers to the film “Herod's Law”, explains that Vargas's character nails a pole in the middle of nowhere and persuades the people that progress has come. At the bottom is the image of the airport alluding to the pole that appears in the film.
