The Government said that the withholdings on corn, soy and wheat will not increase, but did not clarify what will happen to flour and soybean oil

Gabriela Cerruti said it in Casa Rosada. Martín Guzman was in the same vein during his presentation to the Senate for the agreement with the IMF

In the midst of the discussion about the increase in oil and soybean meal export withholdings expected to be announced by the government, Gabriela Cerruti, Alberto Fernández's spokesperson, said that the government is not thinking of charging more taxes on corn, soy and wheat production. However, he did not advance anything that will happen with the other products listed.

“Measures are being studied, none is the increase in retention of corn, soybean and wheat production. We have to understand that the economic consequences of the war have already reached Argentina and the President's concern is to stop these price increases that must be understood in a global context,” he said in a dialogue with journalists.

In this way, the Government sought to root out rumors about an increase in retention in the main grains, which led to a sort of snowball that ended with a threat from Juntos for Change not to support the agreement with the IMF and the criticism of Peronism governors of the alleged official policy.
