Political adviser Jaime Duran Barba gave his vision on the current state of the Government, following the recent approval of the agreement with the IMF in the Chamber of Deputies and the incidents that occurred in front of the National Congress. In this context, he emphasized the internal differences of the Frente de Todos, especially between the President and the Vice, and in dialogue with Jonatan Viale, on Radio Rivadavia, he considered: “One of the two has to finish the term: either Cristina (Kirchner) assumes the presidency or Alberto (Fernández) does it.”

The Ecuadorian analyst began by commenting on the video that the vice president uploaded to her social networks, showing the stones that her office received in the Senate during the vote on the agreement with the Fund. “It is clear that this video is produced, but what is striking is the group anomie in Kirchnerism. How can an important minister like Larroque say that he is surprised by the silence of the government?” , said Durán Barba. And he added: “How do you understand that those people who were at the foot of Congress fighting against the IMF attack Cristina, who was also against the agreement?”

In the same direction, he indicated that “Alberto is being accused of having armed an attack on the Vice-President in the Congress of the Republic”, which was “very serious”. And it was at that moment that, consequently, he expressed himself about the strength of Alberto Fernández: “It is not possible in a presidential system for the Vice to have more power than the President. One of the two has to finish the term: either Cristina assumes the presidency or Alberto does it.” “A normal president kicks out those who want to overthrow him and forms a government of his own,” said the political adviser.

On the other hand, referring to the role of the opposition, he stated that “looking at the panorama of Latin America, the opposition has to rejuvenate itself, it is a bit old”, although in the case of Argentina he concluded: “I say this explicitly, watch out for Milei”.

In addition, at the beginning of February, Durán Barba had assured that Cristina Kirchner's leadership was in decline and had ruled out that she had followers in other countries in the region. “She's not a leader anywhere. Which candidate from which country invites you? We have polls in several countries and 90% of people believe that she did not act correctly when she was President. He is a person who has no leadership anywhere except in Argentina... And in Argentina she is becoming a leader of the Conurbano”, she said.
