Brighton & Hove Albion eased past Brentford in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at the Amex Stadium. Brighton arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing their last game 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Brentford, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Watford. As it stands, Brighton and Brentford are 9th, (23 points) and 13th, (20 points), in the table respectively, after 19 matches.

The Seagulls started the game well, thanks to Leandro Trossard giving Brighton the lead at the 34 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Neal Maupay just before half-time. The score at half time was 2-0. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Both managers used all available substitutions. For Brighton, Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Steven Alzate, came on for Leandro Trossard, Adam Lallana and Alexis MacAllister, Brentford brought on Yoane Wissa, Frank Onyeka and Saman Ghoddos, to replace Bryan Mbeumo, Mathias Jensen and Dominic Thompson.

There were bookings for Adam Webster from Brighton, and Mads Bech Sorensen, Christian Norgaard and Ivan Toney, for Brentford.

Brighton will next travel to Chelsea, while Brentford will face Manchester City at home.
