
Cologne enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Stuttgart at the Rhein Energie Stadion on Sunday. Cologne were looking to continue their run, following a 3-2 victory against Wolfsburg. Stuttgart were beaten 5-0 in the previous match against Bayern Munich. After today's result, Cologne are currently 8th with 25 points from 17 matches, while Stuttgart sit in 16th, with 17 points from 17.
After an un-eventful first half, Cologne piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Anthony Modeste finding the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-0.
For Cologne, Jannes Horn, Mark Uth, Jan Thielmann, Kingsley Schindler and Luca Kilian, came on for Louis Schaub, Ondrej Duda, Sebastian Andersson, Florian Kainz and Rafael Czichos. Stuttgart brought on Alexis Tibidi, Silas Wamangituka, Nikolas Nartey, Pascal Stenzel and Wahidullah Faghir, to replace Mateo Klimowicz, Omar Marmoush, Philipp Forster, Chris Fuhrich and Tanguy Coulibaly.
There were bookings for Florian Kainz, Jonas Hector and Jan Thielmann from Cologne. For Stuttgart, Omar Marmoush saw yellow.
Next up, Cologne are away to Hertha, whilst Stuttgart will travel to face Greuther Fürth.
