Arminia Bielefeld's 2-0 win over RB Leipzig on Saturday, was hard fought at Red Bull Arena. Leipzig wanted to continue adding points after a 1-1 draw against Augsburg. Arminia, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Bochum. As things stand, Leipzig are in 9th place, with 22 points from 17 matches, while Arminia sit in 17th, with 16 points from 17.

After a goalless first half, The Blues continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Janni Serra giving Arminia the lead, at 57 minutes. Arminia then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Masaya Okugawa at the 75 minute mark to make it 2-0.

For Leipzig, Tyler Adams, Mohamed Simakan, Amadou Haidara and Brian Brobbey, came on for Emil Forsberg, Nordi Mukiele, Kevin Kampl and Willi Orban. Arminia replaced Janni Serra, Sebastian Vasiliadis, Patrick Wimmer and Florian Kruger for Fabian Klos, Fabian Kunze, Bryan Lasme and Nathan De Medina.

Leipzig will play their next fixture at home against Mainz, while Arminia will face SC Freiburg away.
