R Madrid beat Seville with a thumping 2-1 victory on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu. RMA were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two games against Granada away and Rayo Vallecano at home, by 4-1 and 2-1 respectively. Seville are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Following today's result, RMA are in 1st place on the table and has 33 points while Seville sit in 4th with 28 points after 15 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Los Nervionenses, with Rafa Mir finding the net in the 12th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Karim Benzema equalised for Los Blancos in the 32nd minute, which brought Carlo Ancelotti's squad level at 1-1 at the half time break

RMA continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Vinicius Junior finding the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For RMA, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Nacho and Lucas Vazquez, came on for Marco Asensio, Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior and Dani Carvajal. Seville brought on Thomas Delaney, Oliver Torres, Oscar, Munir El Haddadi and Oussama Idrissi for Ivan Rakitic, Papu Gomez, Joan Jordan, Gonzalo Montiel and Lucas Ocampos.

There were bookings for Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal and Casemiro from RMA, and Marcos Acuna, Gonzalo Montiel and Lucas Ocampos, for Seville.

RMA will next play Real Sociedad away, with Seville facing Villarreal at home.
