Visitors secure victory as Inter beat Empoli 2-0

Internazionale snatched all three points from Empoli in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday, at Carlo Castellani. Empoli had been hopeful of continuing their run, following a 4-2 victory against Salernitana. Inter, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Juventus. Following today's result, Empoli are in 12th place, with 12 points from 10 matches, while Inter sit in 3rd, with 21 points from 10.

Nerazzurri started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Danilo D`Ambrosio at the 34 minute mark. The score at half time was 0-1.

Inter continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Federico Dimarco finding the net, at 66 minutes and seeing the game end 2-0.

For Empoli, Nicolas Haas, Kristjan Asllani, Leonardo Mancuso, Liam Henderson and Riccardo Fiamozzi, came on for Nedim Bajrami, Szymon Zurkowski, Patrick Cutrone, Filippo Bandinelli and Petar Stojanovic. Inter brought on Joaquin Correa, Matias Vecino, Aleksandar Kolarov, Stefano Sensi and Edin Dzeko, to replace Alexis Sanchez, Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan De Vrij, Roberto Gagliardini and Lautaro Martinez.

The referee booked Sebastiano Luperto from Empoli and Samuele Ricci went off with a red card, while Inter's Stefan De Vrij, Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini also received a yellow.

Empoli will next travel to Sassuolo, while Inter will face Udinese at home.
