On Tuesday, Villarreal and Cádiz were held to a 3-3 draw at the Estadio de la Ceramica. Both Villarreal and Cádiz came from defeats in their previous league games. Villarreal were looking to get back their winning ways after losing 2-1 to Athletic Bilbao in their last match while Cádiz were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Alaves. As the table looks today, Villarreal are in 12th place, with 12 points from 11 matches, while Cádiz sit in 17th, with 8 points from 11.
Cádiz started the first half well, with Anthony Lozano giving Cádiz the lead, 14 minutes in. However, the good fortune didn't last for long. An equalizer from Pau Torres at the 43 minute mark brought The Yellow Submarine level. However, Cádiz just before half-time reestablished their lead following another Anthony Lozano goal, which saw the first half end 1-2.
Cádiz started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to Anthony Lozano finding the net again, 52 minutes in. However, Villarreal weren't lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Boulaye Dia at the 80 minute mark. However they weren't finished yet and Arnaut Danjuma made it 3-3 just before the final whistle to make it 3-3.
For Villarreal, Samuel Chukwueze, Serge Aurier, Francis Coquelin, Pervis Estupinan and Boulaye Dia, came on for Mario Gaspar, Vicente Iborra, Manu Trigueros, Alfonso Pedraza and Paco Alcacer. Cádiz brought on Carlos Akapo, Ivan Alejo, Salvi Sanchez, Tomás Alarcon and Florin Andone, to replace Jens Jonsson, Ivan Chapela, Isaac Carcelén, Anthony Lozano and Fali.
There were bookings for Aissa Mandi, Paco Alcacer and Francis Coquelin from Villarreal. For Cádiz, Alfonso Espino, Fali, Anthony Lozano, Ivan Alejo, Carlos Akapo and Varazdat Haroyan saw yellow.
Villarreal will next travel to Valencia, while Cádiz will face Mallorca at home.
